You don’t need a cape and spandex to be a superhero nowadays. Leilehua High School hosts a Blood Bank of Hawaii donation every few months and everyone who decides to donate saves three lives of people who are in need of the blood. If you’re 17 or older and are able to meet the requirements, there is no reason to not jump to it! Not to mention, if you manage to donate a total of three or more times by the time you graduate, you’re granted a token of gratitude; an honorary red chord.
As long as you’re over the weight of 110 pounds, haven’t had any tattoos or piercings within the last year, are at least 17 with parental consent, and have enough iron to go around then sign up for the next blood drive! You’ll become a hero to three people and their families, and if you donate up to three times, you’ll be Superman’s number one competition.
